Census 2021 population statistics produced by the Office for National Statistics for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough as a whole can be found below.  These population figures are obtained from Census data which is gathered every 10 years, with the latest data below based on the most recent Census of 2021. To view these key statistics for smaller areas within the county (i.e. districts, wards and LSOAs) please use the Interactive Map and Population Reports pages. Both the Reports and the Maps are interactive so we would encourage you to have a play.

You can find Cambridgeshire County Council’s Census 2021 ward demography dashboard and analysis of the Census 2021 first results and topic summaries for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough published on our Census 2021 page. The ward demography dashboard provides key population data from Census 2011 and Census 2021, using the latest ward boundaries, to show how wards have changed over this ten year period.

Cambridgeshire County Council produce and publish local population estimates and forecasts using their own methodology and local data sources.  District and ward level population and dwelling stock estimates and forecasts for Cambridge, East Cambridgeshire, Fenland, Huntingdonshire, South Cambridgeshire and Peterborough are produced, as well as parish level population and dwelling stock estimates. The latest currently available are mid-2021 population and dwelling stock estimates by district, ward and parish, and 2021-based population and dwelling stock forecasts by district and ward.
