Economic Updates

This page includes a summary of analysis which forms the economic updates delivered to the Grater Cambridge Partnership (GCP) and Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority (CPCA) on a quarterly basis. Analysis covers claimant counts, employment/unemployment data, salary information and vacancies.

This work arose from interest in the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the economy of the region. Therefore, earlier updates from the beginning of the pandemic evaluate the pandemics impact on claimant counts and vacancies. Additionally, there is analysis on the uptake of the government support schemes including the furlough scheme and Self-Employment Income Support Scheme (SEISS).

The analysis now has the purpose of monitoring key economic indicators with additional insight into any interesting trends.

This section will be developed with further pieces of analysis in this subject area as the year progresses.
