Inequalities
Health inequalities are systematic, avoidable and unfair differences in health outcomes between populations, between social groups within the same population or as a gradient across a population ranked by social position. In C & P stark inequalities exist in the social determinants of health, risk factors, health care provision and clinical outcomes across socio-economic, disadvantaged and inclusion health groups (Ford, 2020). It will explain inequalities in mental health and cover different types of inequalities, including by:
- Socioeconomic deprivation
- Equality and diversity: ethnicity, gender, sexuality, refugees and asylum seekers, disability, learning disability, autism and ADHD, care experience, and carers
- Severe multiple disadvantage: homelessness, offending, victims of crime
