Community Grant Opens to Support Armed Forces Initiatives Across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough
[News October 2025]Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Armed Forces Covenant Partnership is inviting local organisations and community groups to apply for funding through the Armed Forces Covenant – Community Grant, aimed at supporting projects that benefit the Armed Forces Community.
The grant offers up to £350 to help remove financial barriers that may prevent the creation or continuation of community activities. Funding can be used to cover start-up costs such as equipment purchases or venue hire, enabling a wide range of groups to launch or sustain initiatives that support service personnel, veterans, and their families.
Applicants will be supported throughout the process by the Armed Forces Covenant Partnership Coordinator for Cambridgeshire & Peterborough, who will help explore ideas and guide groups through the application.

Maximum grant: £350
Spending deadline: Within 6 months of award
Restrictions: No retrospective funding for items or services already paid for (exceptions may be discussed)
Application limit: One application per group/activity per 12-month period
Successful applicants will be asked to collaborate with the Partnership Coordinator to produce a news article showcasing their project for the Covenant Partnership website.
Eligible Projects May Include:
- Initiatives that foster community support and connection
- Activities that reduce social isolation
- Support for vulnerable individuals
- Health and wellbeing programmes
- Projects engaging older adults in community life
- Youth activities (ages 5+) promoting social, creative, or physical development
- Mental health support and prevention initiatives
- Programmes helping Armed Forces families feel a sense of belonging in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough
