From Care To Command Launches
[News August 2025]
The Rees Foundation, is a Droitwich-based charity committed to ensuring that Care Experienced People across the UK not only survive but thrive. They offer a wide range of practical and emotional support services—including crisis help, financial education, mental health support, and career mentoring—to empower individuals from care backgrounds to build stable, fulfilling futures.
The Rees Foundation are excited to share the launch of a new project, “From Care to Command”, made possible through generous funding from the Veterans Foundation and the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust.
This unique initiative is designed to support Armed Forces personnel—both serving and veterans—as well as their family members who have experienced the care system or foster care. It aims to bridge service gaps and raise awareness across the voluntary and Armed Forces sectors about the distinct needs of this often-overlooked group.
Their tailored services under this initiative include:
For Care Experienced Armed Forces Personnel or Veterans:
• Let’s Connect: Peer-led inclusive activities that build community, resilience, and mental health support
• Access to Records: Supporting Care Leavers in accessing and understanding their care records—an essential part of their emotional journey.
• Ask Jan Membership: Real-time mental health support via live chat, WhatsApp, and SMS, with up to 8 free counselling sessions.
• Monthly Peer Support Groups: Safe, professional-led sessions specifically for Armed Forces Care Leavers, facilitated by experienced Armed Forces Care Leavers and with different themes per month.
