Transport Insights

Cambridgeshire County Council conduct analysis on a variety of transport data. Key insights are published here through quarterly updates and annual reports.

Road Safety

Cambridgeshire County Council receives road traffic collision data from the police (STATS19) which is cleaned and validated before being verified by the Department for Transport. The road traffic collision data can be downloaded or viewed in our interactive road safety dashboard.

Traffic Flows

The Cambridgeshire County Council Policy & Insight team monitor motorised vehicle, cycle and pedestrian flows across the county using a series of permanent sensors and annually-scheduled surveys.

Details of the data collection sites and methods are available on the Traffic Count Sites Map. Traffic flow trends can be viewed in our interactive dashboards and detailed data can be requested (charges apply).

Travel Times and Speeds

Cambridgeshire County Council have access to Trafficmaster speed / travel time data for Cambridgeshire, which is provided to local highway authorities by the Department for Transport on an annual basis.
