WW1 Centenary: population a hundred years ago

WW1 rememberance poppy

With the WW1 centenary nearly upon us we have taken a quick look at the population around Cambridgeshire 100 years ago.

Cambridgeshire had a much smaller population one hundred years ago.  We don’t have the figures for 1914, but we do have those from the 1911 Census.

The populations of most towns have at least doubled, and St Neots has increased by seven-fold!
