The Board brings together those who buy and run services across the NHS, public health, social care, adult and children's services, district council services, with representatives from the voluntary sector and HealthWatch, to plan the right health care services for Cambridgeshire.
Following the appointment at yesterday's Shadow Health and Wellbeing Board, held at Shire Hall, the Chairman of the group and Leader of Cambridgeshire County Council, Cllr Nick Clarke welcomed the appointment.
Cllr Nick Clarke said: “It’s fantastic news that Cllr Ellington, with the depth of her knowledge and experience, has accepted this important role. She will not only support me in my role as Chairman but will be a vital voice for all partner organisations – including district councils. I look forward to working closely with her as all parties come together to deliver the best possible health outcomes for our residents.”
Cllr Sue Ellington, South Cambridgeshire District Council’s cabinet member for environment and health services, said: "I'm really pleased to be selected as the Vice Chairman of this board as keeping people healthy is vitally important.
