The Prevention JSNA for Adults of Working Age Adults addresses the wide range of preventable factors that influence health and well being. It demonstrates the effect of socio-economic factors and lifestyle. Mortality, morbidity and hospital admission information is presented as outcomes that are associated with these wide ranging determinants. Understanding the prevention needs of the population is a necessary precursor to utilizing the substantial evidence that prevention works and that it can make substantial improvements to the health of the population, decrease health inequalities and effectively address health and social problems.
This JSNA was developed with wide range of partners from the health, local authority and voluntary sectors. It will be updated in 2011 and will include a wider range of datasets. A multi-agency Steering Group has been formed and will oversee the development of the revised version.
