The Cambridgeshire Research Group assist in providing Cambridgeshire Children, Families and Adults Services detailed and regular updated pupil forecasts for incorporation in budgets and planning of school place provision.
We maintain and monitor pupil forecasting models and supported data systems.
We also contribute to ensuring that pupil forecasts and background planning information is used in efficient and effective ways throughout the local authority, primarily in the form of school profiles, contributions to reports and other advice to education officers.
Information from the Department of Education (DfE) annual schools' census carried out in January of each year is included in the following atlases. This information relates to the proportion of children claiming free school meals and the number of pupils attending their catchment school:
- Cambridgeshire Atlas | Ward Profiles displays the proportion of children claiming free school meals, and the number of primary and secondary children attending their catchment school.
We are currently looking at including more of this information into an education atlas, alongside information relating to educational attainment.
Further statistics from the DfE schools' census relating to maintained schools in Cambridgeshire can be found in the schools booklets.
Performance tables for Cambridgeshire schools and colleges can be viewed on the DfE's website. The In Your Area website from the DfE is useful for finding further information about educational attainment and skills in Cambridgeshire at district, parliamentary constituency and ward level. There are also some education attainment details within our district profiles reports.
The Census 2011 | Children and Young People Profiles present information about children and young people in Cambridgeshire, especially 0 to 18 year olds. The data used throughout the profiles is from the 2011 Census, which took place on 27 March 2011. Not all the Census 2011 data pertinent to children and young people in Cambridgeshire has been released yet. Therefore, data is included here relating to all resident children and all resident dependent children at a district level. A report is also available (see publication below) covering a range of topics.
